Imagine being alive in 1790.
If you were alive in the 1700s, you most likely would have lived on a farm. Somewhere in Vermont, Kentucky, maybe Pennsylvania. There’d be a large barn (or two) on your family land. Inside the barn, you’d keep your hay, grain or fruits. Or maybe it would be used to shelter livestock. Cows, horses, sheep.
There were no iPhones or internet. Families spent quality time together, usually over a hearty supper. To say times were simpler 250 years ago would be an understatement.
Even the Government was simpler.

There’s more to knocking down a barn than knocking down a barn. You have to be very careful and have the finesse of a ballerina not to crack the planks or else you’ll end up with a pile of firewood. It’s time-consuming and difficult but necessary, because that’s the siding we use make your 4 Laws Flag.
After the planks are off, time to tip over the skeleton. To do this right, “relief notches” are cut into the frame to make the barn fall the way it needs to go. You then hook a cable to the center post of the barn. Hook the other end of the cable to your semi, and drive that sucker away from the barn.
Just because you have a pile of barn wood doesn’t mean your flag is ready to be made. In fact, 90% of the wood that comes off the barn is of no use. We go through each board and pick out the best pieces one by one. After that we make sure to carefully save the parts of the boards with historical markings. This is a job for a true craftsman…you can’t just have anyone “sawing” boards.
After the best boards with the most unique historical markings are selected, now it’s time to build the flag. This is done one board at a time, making sure we ‘stagger’ the different colored boards. This is an art form in itself and not an easy task, because the wood is centuries-old and each species has its own unique color.
But getting this right is crucial to making the flag look aesthetically pleasing on your wall. Not to brag, but the craftsmen we have making your flag are masters at that… which is why it will be so striking when you see it on your wall for the first time!
After the boards are assembled, we now have to plasma-cut the steel overlay that will wrap over the top of your 4 Laws Flag to give it that one-of-a-kind appearance and symmetry. After the stars and stripes overlay is cut, the steel overlay now has to be bent, grinded, sandblasted, primed and painted using special paint.
Finally,we need to assemble all the parts of the flag. It’s a very a laborious process (the metal overlay by itself has 22 screws holding it place!) but in the end it’s worth it… because of the QUALITY. You will never find anything like it anywhere, at any price!
